Prophetic Worship 01 -What does prophetic mean?

What is Prophetic Worship?

first….I am no expert. I only have my own personal experiences, other people’s experiences found in stories, videos and books….and of course….the Bible.

Here are my thoughts on Prophetic Worship.

Prophetic Worship is a combination of two concepts (1) the prophetic and (2) worship.

I like to break it down this way:

I believe the word prophetic is simply an adjective. It is a describing word.

For the purpose of this Prophetic Worship post, worship is being described as prophetic.

The Hebrew word for prophesy is naba. It’s phonetic spelling is nä·vä (nah-VAH). It means to speak or sing under divine inspiration.

Prophetic

The word prophetic even describes one of its associated roots: prophecy.

This word prophecy should not be confused with the word prophesy.

‘Prophecy’ is the noun (person, place or THING) result of the verb (action) ‘prophesy’.

I remember a very simple definition I heard once. I want to share it with you now. ….to ‘prophesy’ means to speak or sing under divine inspiration.

The Hebrew Language is generally accepted to be one of the seven oldest languages known to man. The Hebrew word for prophesy is naba. It’s phonetic spelling is nä·vä (nah-VAH). Once again, it means to speak or sing under divine inspiration.
