A Simple Formula for Success. Joshua 1:8

There would be no need for positive healthy encouragement if it were not given.

Think about the above statement. Reread it if necessary.

Positive healthy encouragement only comes from a place of confidence, authority, and love those who love, encourage others to move by faith into their Promised Land.

We can read and Joshua 1:8 the Lord is telling Joshua for a second time in the same breath how to secure success and prosperity.

The Lord clearly gives Joshua the formula for success and prosperity. It is a simple formula. According to the biblical Book of Joshua, the formula for True success is as follows:

Keeping the law in your mouth + meditate on the law on the law day and night + doing according to all that is written in the law = a prosperous way, wise dealings, and ultimate true success.

In this formula, there is a lot of mention of the word law. What is this law?

In all practical sense, Jesus Christ sums up the entire law given to Moses with to command. Those two commands are (1) love God and (2) love people.

When you love God, you love people. All is fulfilled because God is love.

True success simply comes from loving God first

Our true success simply comes from loving God first.

Jesus said, seek God’s Kingdom first. If you seek God’s kingdom first in everything you say and do, all needed and necessary things will follow.

Your dreams, your leadership aspirations, and your vision will be yours *after* you seek God’s Kingdom first. In order to seek God’s kingdom first, you must first love God.

God’s kingdom is your secret to success. The kingdom of God is your Providence. Without God’s kingdom, you have no vision, no dream, no plan, no direction, and no true success.

Your true success is located inside of God’s Kingdom. That is why you should seek his kingdom first.

God promises this prosperity and true success when we first look for his kingdom in everything we say and do. Everything. Every day.

I believe, this is what the Lord was telling Joshua, “Joshua, I have success for you but first make sure that you meditate on my words day and night, and do what they say. Put action to the ideas. Bring life to those words through your actions. Make sure these words never leave your mouth, Joshua.

One of the key ingredients to your success is to keep God’s word in your mouth.

Talk to yourself and speak out loud The divinely Inspired words of God continually.

When your mouth opens God’s law and word should be heard and seen and should never be absent.

  • Take in the wisdom of your mentors.
  • Think about the power of their words.
  • Speak out loud and declare them over yourself.
  • There should never be a moment when you are without those words.
  • Think of them constantly.
  • Put them before your eyes.
  • Put them into your ears.
  • Breathe them.
  • Live them.
  • Explore them.
  • Protect them
  • See them happening in your life.
  • Envision them.

How to Inspire Others. Joshua 1:6

In one way, our victory and success may be most effectively determined by the lasting positive impact we make on and in the lives of others. Simply put, we win when we help others win.

How different would your life be today if you knew your victory was an absolute guarantee?

What would be different about your experience if you heard a loving, caring, confident and powerful voice of authority speaking the following words over you?

  • Be Brave.
  • Be Determined.
  • Be Courageous.
  • Be Strong.

What if you knew that your leadership venture would guarantee change in others lives? Is that possible?

What if you knew that your actions would cause people to change?

What if people would be brought closer to the will of God for their lives because of your leadership initiative?

When you rally and move yourself towrds the dream, the people who are with you may not all follow you, but the ones that matter will. They are counting on you lead.

You are the one for the job. Your courage, strength, and confidence will produce the necessary motivation and inspiration for others to even move into the dreams they have….the dreams of your father’s… dreams that were left unfulfilled.
The best way to inspire others is to be true to yourself. Live your life with passion.

Support from God. Joshua 1:5

Having support is critical to success.  I can’t think of anything more destructive than feeling unsupported, unloved, unwanted and all alone.

Without support, we are left to our own demise.

Here is some really great news: we are not meant to be left alone. It’s not apart of the plan.

However, as new leaders, its is quite easy to feel alone, especially when things seem overwhelming.

I want to share with you a few thoughts concerning the importance of support and encouragement.

I believe when we begin to the think about the details of our assignment and dream, it’s magnitude, it’s purpose and HUGE potential impact on the world, a dream thief will make aggressive and clever attempts to steal the dream by challenging our ability to make the dream a reality.

*secret: The thief tries to steal the dream by challenging us. He does not challenge the dream, the thief challenges us. The thief can’t touch the dream….because it’s Gods dream.

The only way for the dream to come to pass is for us to give voice and direction to it. We must be able to lead ourselves into the dream first. This only happens thru belief. We must believe our dream is possible. This starts with the initial conception of the dream which is planted into our hearts by the Holy Spirit of God.

By leading ourselves into the dream, we grow with each step in our personal development and leadership confidence. When this happens we attract the right people to join us and follow because it takes other people to help make the dream a reality. The dream is always about people. Always.

When we have an actualization to the boundaries of our dreams, when we begin to clearly see its borders, we may start to think about the process. We begin to think about the details. We think about how this massive dream will actually become reality. We wonder how?

If we are not careful, a thief will come to take the future of the dream by challenge our ability to lead. The thief pulls the hammer of doubt from his belt and begins to tap the nails of excuses into a coffin of unbelief…while we are in it!

If we are not careful, the dream dies before it is ever born.

The dream is aborted between conception and birth.

Our excuses try to put the clothes of explanation on so they [the excuses] are not so naked and shocking. I like what Agatha Christie says about explanations, “To rush into explanations is always a sign of weakness.”

Benjamin Franklin is noted for saying, “He that is good at making excuses is seldom good for anything else.”

Joshua had just as much of an opportunity as any of us to see the vision, get excited about the next season, and then in the next breath talk himself out it when the practicalities of making this awesome dream and national movement a reality seem quite large and impossible.

Thank God. He steps in verbally with clear words of support and encouragement for a reason. Joshua needed God’s support for the vision. So do we.

Joshua, I will always be with you and help you as I helped Moses, and no one will ever be able to defeat you.

Here are a few thoughts to consider:

  • Has God ever raised up leaders before?
  • If God does not Fail and God will always be with us always, hmmm… where does that leave us?
  • If God reminds us that he will never leave us and a victorious outcome is going to happen as a result of Gods power, grace, ability, comfort, support, why worry?
  • Will God forget about us?
